Day 1: Your tour Departs from the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, clearing Mexican customs Reynosa and head south through our neighboring state of Tamaulipas, crossing the Tropic of Cancer on the way. It's a delight to cross the Sierra Madres mountain range on the new road to San Luis Potosi whre you'll spend you first night. The downtown Real Plaza Hotel is your host this evening. There will be a welcome reception upon arrival complete with a musical serenade or student minstrel program.
Day 2: After sightseeing in San Luis sit back and enjoy the scenery. There will be rest stops and picture taking. Early afternoon arrival in Angangueo, a town at the foot of the mountains you'll be traveling through in the morning. Your host hotel willbe the Hotel Don Bruno. Dinner is included this evening, as well as breakfast and lunch tomorrow.

Day 3: After breakfast, you'll make the drive through beautiful mountain passes to the Butterfly Reserve. At times you'll be at over 9,000 feet elevation. Here you'll spend the reminder of the morning visiting with our beautiful winged friends, a true feast for the eyes, as well as for all the senses as you become subtly caught in the "snowfall" of these lovely creatures all around you. In the afternoon, you'll drive on to one of the most picturesque towns in all of Mexico, Patzcuaro. Beautiful buildings abound. Following check-in at the Posada Don Vasco, you'll have time to enjoy this quiant town. There is an attractive restaurant in your hotel. You'll enjoy the dance of the Viejitos, the little old men, really young boys, disguised.

Day 4: You'll sightsee in this quaint town this morning including the Tarascan Museum, the downtown market, the Casa de Once Patios (11 patios) which features a dazzling array of regional crafts and nearby Santa Clara del Cobre, famous for copperware (you see them make it.)

Day 5: This morning you'll have chance to see the little town of Tzintzuntzan, famous for its archeological site and painted pottery, aslo wood carvings and straw creations. Then on to Matehuala and Las Palmas Midway Inn for the night.

Day 6: After breakfast, you'll cross the Sierra Madres once again, this time through stunning Santa Rosa Canyon on the way back to Reynosa and Texas. Arrive in the Rio Grande Valley about 5:30p.m.
