Itinerary
Day 1: Leave your cares behind and cross the border at Reynosa, continuing on through Soto La Marina. You'll arrive in Tampico in the afternoon, driving through the rolling hills of sage brush country and traveling by mountains and lakes. Lush vegetation with Royal palms and African tulips announce your arrival. We head straight for the ocean and your beach hotel! Box Lunch & Dinner Included
Day 2: Club Maeva will exceed your wildest dreams - delicious meals, drinks and cocktails, enjoyable Club parties, floorshows in both English and Spanish so you can all understand, and theme shows. The Club's "Maeva-Friends" will even dance with you if you don't have a partner. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included
Day 3: If you can tear yourself away from that wonderful beach and the sea air, you'll take an optional free city tour. Tampico's Historic Center on the Plaza de la Libertad welcomes you with lacy wroughtiron balconies and quaint nineteenth century facades. Colorful figures stride through the pages of its past: swashbuckling pirates, treasure seekers, and oil barons. Humphrey Bogart was even thrown out of the hotel Palacio's saloon in "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre"! Your city tour will feature the dock area and the imposing Maritime Customs House, the Museum of Huastec Culture, Tampico's well known Pyramid of Las Flores, and a boat or streetcar ride at the Carpenter's Lagoon. Then back to the beach for lunch and your last afternoon in the sun! Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included
Day 4: After breakfast at Club Maeva, we hit the trail toward Cd. Victoria, stopping to see some tenaza furniture being made at Guayalejo. Time for a fast look at the state's capitol city before continuing on your way. Pass by the town of Jimenez, the old state capital where the Count of Sierra Gorda had his headquarters. Arrive in the Rio Grande Valley about 5:30 PM. Breakfast Included
